Fern Gully : Rheenendal : Knysna : Garden Route

Welcome to Fern Gully farm providing friendly self catering accommodation in Rheenendal, 18km outside Knysna. Each unique wood cabin is built on stilts at the edge of the gorge creating the impression and ambiance of being in the tree tops. The accommodation is positioned as to provide maximum seclusion and privacy and each cabin's deck faces its own view through the trees.

Self-catering forest cabins

Each unique cabin is fully furnished and equipped for self catering ease. Fridge, hot-plate, microwave, DVD, heaters, fans, crockery, glassware, cookware, extra bedding, shower and towels. Braai facilities are on the deck, hot & cold outside shower & off street parking. A full size jungle gym and swings are only a short walk away. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement.

Delicious breakfast, lunch and tea is available from our Red Barn restaurant, only a short walk from the self catering cabins.

Local attractions

The historical Millwood Gold mine is close by providing scenic mountain biking, hiking, and horse trails in the indigenous forest. While Buffels Bay beach popular for swimming and surfing is just 15 minutes drive away making the farm accommodation perfectly located between Knysna and Sedgefield.

Knysna is the jewel of the Garden Route with a year round temperate climate and pristine beaches. Home to the largest indigenous forest in South Africa containing exotic stinkwood and yellowwood trees and a large variety of birds including the Knysna Loerie. Small antelope meander in the deep forest where herds of wild elephants once roamed.
